Prior to 2001, NGS traded as Cerberus Information Security Ltd. In 2000, Cerberus was purchased by American security company @stake Inc, and became their European headquarters. In 2001, the six founding directors established NGS, which is one of the largest truly independent security consulting companies in the United Kingdom. The company is self funded by the directors and has no reliance on, or obligation to, external investors.
