A critical element of the Arbutus solution is having the data processing technology reside on the same platform as the data. Organizations with z/OS, OS/390 and MVS can run the mainframe server. The server communicates directly with Legacy Link to provide access to IBM mainframe based data. Having the Arbutus Server application running natively in the mainframe environment enables the direct, real-time access to all data sources like DB2, IMS, VSAM and flat files.
