The Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol is basically a messaging standard designed to facilitate the electronic exchange of securities-related information between various market participants. The protocol also support third parties in delivering messages between trading partners FIX is independent of any communication protocol for electronic data delivery. In simple words, FIX protocol denotes common vocabulary that governs connectivity and content.
