ABSTRACT:
A certain set of baseline feature requirements is emerging for the massively scalable NAS environments, including massive capacity, performance, high availability, and manageability. Each vertical market may have its own unique set of requirements for storage management capabilities, but massively scalable NAS platforms across all environments will very likely share this core set of requirements. This paper discusses these requirements in detail, maps them to customer requirements, and then examines Exanet's ExaStore 2008 NAS platform.
